In a shocking case of fraud, a father and son staged a fake death in Delhi’s Najafgarh area to claim ₹1 crore in insurance money. The fraudulent scheme was exposed when police investigated the case, uncovering that the son, Gagan, was alive and in hiding.
Satish, the father, filed a complaint at Najafgarh police station, claiming that his son had died in an accident involving a bike rider on March 5. He further stated that Gagan’s last rites were performed in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, without a post-mortem. However, when the police conducted a deeper probe—questioning relatives and visiting the cremation ground—they discovered the entire story was fabricated.
The conspiracy involved Satish, Gagan, a bike driver, and a lawyer, all of whom worked together to execute the plan. Hapur police have now taken Satish and Gagan into custody, registering a case for fraud and conspiracy. Authorities are continuing their investigation to identify any further accomplices.
Meanwhile, in another incident, Paschim Vihar West police arrested a man carrying a knife. Identified as Monu alias Mithun from Begumpur, he was caught during a routine patrol in Jwalapuri. Police are now investigating how he acquired the weapon.
