Driver fled from Delhi in a shocking robbery involving ₹30 lakh, but the swift action of the Tilak Nagar police team led to his arrest in Gujarat. The accused, identified as Prince from Chandra Vihar, Nihal Vihar, had been working as a driver and took advantage of his employer’s trust to escape with the hefty sum. He was finally tracked down in Bhuj, Gujarat, thanks to an efficient blend of CCTV surveillance and manual intelligence.

According to Western District DCP Vichitra Veer, the incident came to light after the employer lodged a complaint stating that his driver Prince had absconded with ₹30 lakh from a business transaction. A case was immediately registered at Tilak Nagar police station, and a dedicated team under Inspector Vineet Pandey and ACP Sundar Rathi began a thorough investigation.

The team first scoured Delhi for leads, checking CCTV footage and visiting possible hideouts. Their efforts soon paid off when technical surveillance pointed towards Bhuj in Gujarat. The team was dispatched promptly, and the accused was successfully apprehended.

During the arrest, police recovered ₹26 lakh in cash and ₹1.5 lakh worth of gold jewellery, allegedly bought using the stolen money. Prince had already begun spending the looted funds, but the timely intervention prevented further losses.

This case of a driver fleeing from Delhi in a daring robbery underscores the importance of swift police action and the role of technology in tracking criminals across state lines. The recovery of a major portion of the stolen money comes as a relief to the victim and marks another success story for Delhi Police.
