Imphal-Bound IndiGo Flight Returns to Delhi After Technical Snag, Passengers Safe

Imphal-bound IndiGo flight returns to Delhi after a minor technical snag forced pilots to turn back as a precaution. Flight 6E 5118, which departed from Indira Gandhi International Airport for Imphal on Thursday, experienced the issue shortly after take-off. IndiGo confirmed that the aircraft landed safely in Delhi, and no injuries were reported.

An airline spokesperson stated, “In line with mandatory procedures, the aircraft underwent necessary checks and resumed the journey shortly thereafter. Inconvenience caused to our customers is regretted. The safety and security of customers, crew, and aircraft is of utmost importance to us.” Passengers were assisted during the delay, though the airline did not specify the exact technical problem.

A similar incident occurred on Wednesday when an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Goa, 6E 6271, was diverted to Mumbai after detecting a technical snag mid-air. The flight, originally headed to Manohar International Airport in Goa, safely landed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai.

IndiGo arranged alternative aircraft in both cases, ensuring passengers could continue their journeys with minimal disruption. The airline reiterated its commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards, expressing regret for the inconvenience caused by these unforeseen situations.
